What's really important?

A lot of people frown on low paying jobs. They see them as anything but good for the average worker. See Wikipedia's entry for McJob. However, most people working such jobs are high school aged young people. To them the pay is not the important thing. What is most important is the job skills they learn such as getting to work on time, respecting coworkers, and obeying supervisors. That is what is really important.

An overlooked concept,

Leftists who constantly rant about "the poor" in America say that poor people are doomed to a life of misery. They also blame Capitalism for their misery. But thanks to Capitalism poverty is under the control of the individual. The real problem that such leftists make is they fail to realize that poverty is overcome by optimism. For instance, a lot of low income people fail to buy stocks because they don't think they are able to. A lot of low income people don't use resources like libraries, churches, and family because they don't think it will do them any good. With that kind of pessimism poor people will stay poor.
Capitalism honors optimism.

The main ingredient,

Capitalism does have its opponents. The opponents often ask why Capitalism is superior to other systems like socialism and communism. The thing that makes Capitalism superior to other forms of government is freedom. Have you noticed the leadership of communist countries? Castro, Mao, and Stalin forced communism upon the people in their countries. In the United States the people freely choose Capitalism.

Understanding poverty,

Liberals have always preached about the plight of poverty in America. But I am betting that conservatives understand poverty much better than liberals. Ask yourself this: Who is more likely to agree that America is the greatest country the world has ever known, liberals or conservatives? Of course conservatives would be the answer to that question; conservatives know the greatness in America because they understand how poverty looks in other nations. Liberals on the other hand think being poor in America is equivalent to the harsh reality that starving children have to endure in Africa. So now who do you think truly understands poverty more, liberals or conservatives?

Reaganomics works every time,

A lot of Reagan-haters insist on labeling anything pro-Capitalist as "trickle down" economics. (or Reaganomics) As if Reagan's idea of pro-Capitalism economics was wrong. First of all "trickle down" does work every paycheck period in America; the employees receive money handed down from the company that hired them. So it is silly to say "trickle down" never works. It works every pay day. And you never thought it would be so simple to understand did you?

Be careful what you wish for,

Everyone wants an alternative to gasoline right now. If we get such a thing tomorrow how will it impact us? One thing a lot of people consider is how much happier they would be if we had such an alternative. But upon receiving a replacement to gasoline, the current price of gasoline would drop and a lot of people would forget about the new technology and go with the cheaper price of gasoline. Then what happens to the new technology? Will it be able to compete with the gasoline prices once they drop? Just a thought.

What do the people want?

Do you want minimum wage raised? If you are educated in economics you don't because you know anytime the minimum wage is raised jobs are lost. No exceptions. Recently Republican senator Sam Brownback told Neil Cavuto on Fox News that an increase in minimum wage is what American citizens want. Hmmmm......I wonder if he is aware of how much more informed American citizens are now thanks to the new media.
