Health insurance is very expensive. But there is a way to lower the prices almost over night; all that would need to happen is for all employers to drop health insurance coverage for their employees. Why? Because people would not be able to afford it and in order for the insurance companies to have customers they would have to lower their prices.
Good luck on getting people to support such an idea though; too many people think it is a great idea for businesses to be responsible for everyone's health.
